This project involved construction of approximately 1.8 kilometres of gravity sewers ranging in diameter from 150 mm to 355 mm located at various locations across Cessnock.
Areas included the following:
- Moore Street Cessnock gravity sewer alignment.
- Anzac Avenue Cessnock gravity sewer alignment.
- Quarrybylong Street Cessnock gravity sewer alignment.
- Congewai Street Cessnock gravity sewer alignment.
Briefly, the work included, but was not limited to the following:
- Moore Street gravity sewer alignment:
- Approximately 293 metres of DN300 gravity sewer from 76 Ann Street through an open grassed area and across Allandale Road to Wine Country Drive. Approximately 34 metres of the gravity sewer was DICL PN35 constructed using trenchless technology. The remaining sections of the gravity sewer were UPVC SN8 constructed in open trench excavation. Two new access chambers were constructed as part of this alignment.
- Decommissioning of an existing section of gravity sewer.
- Connection of existing DN150 sewer transporting flow from Nursing Home was re-connected to the new line.
- Approximately 169 metres of DN225 UPVC SN8 sewer main was laid in an open grassed area. This included construction of two new access chambers.
- Approximately 481 metres of DN225 UPVC SN8 sewer main that included the construction of two new access chambers.
- Approximately 263 metres of DN300 UPVC SN8 sewer main along Lee Ann Crescent to an existing access chamber. This included the construction of two new access chambers.
- Anzac Avenue gravity sewer alignment:
- Approximately 41 metres of DN355 PE100 PN8 gravity sewer from existing access chamber through an open grassed area to a new Access Chamber. This section of the gravity main was to be constructed using pipe bursting technology but it was decided that trenching was a better option.
- Approximately 401 metres of DN225 UPVC SN8 gravity sewer from to an existing Access Chamber. Construction of two new access chambers.
- Quarrybylong Street gravity sewer alignment:
- Approximately 84 metres of DN300 UPVC SN8 gravity sewer from an existing access chamber through an open grassed area to another existing. The existing sewer main was decommissioned.
- Congewai Street gravity sewer alignment:
- Approximately 88 metres of DN150 UPVC SN8 sewer main from an existing Access Chamber through an open grassed are to a new Access Chamber.
