This project was for the construction of Hills Plain 1 Water Pumping Station located at Victoria Park Reservoir site Tamworth and included the following works:
Construction of a brick Pump Station Building approx. 9.6m x 8.9m with a metal deck roof on a reinforced concrete slab including integral reinforced concrete columns and partial wall sections.
The main items of work included the following:
- Construction of a pumping station including supply and installation of two equal sized pumps in a duty/standby (duplex) configuration.
- Construction of the pumping station building included metalwork, ventilation, security system land clearing, debris removal, and excavation and associated works. Care had to be taken in building construction to maximise sound-proofing qualities.
- Construction of access driveway and hardstand.
- Supply and install pipework for pumps including all required steelwork
- Supply and install electrical switchboard and PLC.
- Supply and install earthing system and install electricity metering equipment to the requirements of the Supply Authority.
- Supply and install DN375 suction pipework from the respective delivery pipelines from the two existing reservoirs.
- Supply and install DN375 delivery pipework from the pumping station to the DN450 trunk delivery main located immediately outside the station.
- Supply and install DN375 flow meter on the delivery pipeline and within the station.
- Installation of all valves, hydrants and fittings for the station.
- Supply and installation of pipework, valves and fittings up to suction and delivery pipelines. Including connection to suction and delivery pipelines.
- Supply and installation of electrical equipment, wiring, conduits, cable tray, cabling and associated works.
- Supply and installation of instrumentation, gauge board, wiring and associated works.
- Civil, mechanical and electrical work associated with items above.
- Supply and installation of water services to the pumping station.
- Acceptance testing of pipework.
- Restoration of all disturbed areas and removal of surplus spoil from site.
- Pre-commissioning and commissioning.
- Supply of Operations and Maintenance manuals.
- Provision of Work-as-Executed drawings
- Supply and installation of consumer mains from the transformer to the pump station switch board to the requirements of the Supply Authority.
- Programming of PLC
