The scope of this contract comprised Civil Engineering as well as Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation works for the construction of new inlet works and building at the Mannering Park Sewage Treatment Plant, located off Tall Timbers Road, Mannering Park.
The scope of works for this contract included the supply of all plant, labour and materials for and construction and installation of:
- Construction of Inlet Works comprising reinforced concrete inlet channels with screening capture and removal facilities, flow splitter and bypass, lining of the internal of the new inlet works with HDPE lining;
- Earthworks including design supply and installation of erosion and sedimentation control measures for the duration of the contract;
- Construction of a roof structure to house the inlet works and building for the new switchboard;
- Design, supply and installation of two step screens, including a screenings screw wash press and bagging unit for each screen;
- Design, supply and installation of four motorised penstocks in the step screen flumes;
- Design, supply and installation of all electrical and control equipment including Motor Control Centre , connection to existing power supply on site, lighting and GPO’s, power cabling and connections to new equipment, underground and above ground cable ducts, in ground pits, stainless steel cable ducts and trays;
- Design, supply and installation of a soil bed odour control unit;
- Integration of new equipment into existing plant SCADA system including all programming;
- Design, supply and installation of miscellaneous metalwork including stop boards, weir plates, chequer plate covers, platforms, handrails and access stairways;
- Supply and installation of inter-connecting pipe work including extension of the existing rising mains to connect to the new inlet works, scour pipes, manholes etc and overflow pipe to an existing aeration tank;
- Design, supply and installation of an odour control unit including all ducting pipework and support brackets and covers to the inlet works;
- Recycled water reticulation including wash down hose reels;
- Potable water reticulation including hand basin;
- Minor road works;
- Demolition of existing inlet structure including removal from site and plugging ends of disused pipe with concrete, and restoration of existing surface with bitumen surface to match adjacent surface.
- Restoration of the works with topsoiling and turfing and repairs to any damaged roadworks and fencing.
- Other minor works necessary for the completion of the project.
- Testing and commissioning.
